DAY CAMP AT WILLOW SOUTH 2010

Our  Horse Camps are one-week programs designed for the beginner rider age 6 - 12  who wants to gain more experience and confidence around  horses. They have a one 1-hour riding lesson followed by horsemanship activities such as horse care and stable management.  Skills are taught through formal lessons and fun games. Beginners are welcome.  Beginner program includes the learning the safe way to approach and catch and halter a horse, how to groom and tack up a horse, what are the parts of the horse, the saddle, the bridle.  Part of one day will be devoted to bathing horses and grooming for a horse show.  The day ends after campers untack and groom their horses.  Our instruction is based on the goals and ideals of the American Riding Instructors Association. Safety is our foremost concern.  Please look at our equipment page for the proper riding gear.  See more pictures of camp activities
